Technical aids for people with diversity

Technical aids for people with diversity are devices that facilitate the performance of daily tasks that a person cannot do on his own when he has a mobility, communication or sensory deficit.

Currently, more devices are emerging to make life easier for our elders, and allow them an increasingly real independence, prolonging their stay in their homes for a longer period of time.

Depending on the limitations of the person we can distinguish between:

Mobility aids

  • Cane with anatomical support for both hands, height adjustable and foldable.
  • Height-adjustable forearm crutch with cushioned support.
  • Cushioned auxiliary support crutch, equipped with handle and non-slip fabric.
  • Height adjustable walker.
  • Height adjustable walker with four wheels and two anatomical handles.
  • Manual, attendant-controlled, scissor-folding wheelchair.
  • Electric wheelchair driven by a joystick.
  • Portable device for transferring a person from wheelchair to bed or other surfaces.
  • Crane for lifting heavy weights.

Cooking aids:

  • Cutting board with anti-slip supports and stops.
  • Lid lifting device for canning containers.

Food subsidies:

  • Spoon with extension.
  • Plastic device used to help hold tetrabriks.
  • Thick handle cutlery set.

Adaptation for household furniture

  • Height adjustable bedside table with variable tilt table top.
  • Portable catapult seat that, when placed on the couch or chair, makes it easier to sit down and get up more safely.
  • Non-slip floor plate.
  • Non-slip slippers for washing your feet in the shower and not bending over.
  • Toilet seat with armrests. They are fixed and can be graduated in 3 heights, and the armrests can be removed.

Communication aids:

  • Vibrating control that alerts of alarms such as telephone, doorbell, etc.
  • Icon communicator for people with speech difficulties.
  • Keyboard with large keys.
  • Mouse adapted to a joystick.

Vision aids:

  • Portable electronic magnifier that magnifies images and characters.
  • Screen magnifier for computer or television.

Aids for handling utensils

  • Cylindrical device for squeezing toothpaste tube
  • Long reach gripper for picking up very small objects
  • Tool for turning knobs and keys.
  • Fastens buttons and zippers. 

Support for leisure time

  • Automatic card shuffler.
  • Semicircular letter holder with a central notch for placing the letters
  • Page turner with adaptable angle
  • Beach wheelchair that can float on water (amphibious chair)
